Yes, when a project needs expanded distribution to bookstores. Distribution through IngramSpark requires an ISBN. U.S. customers may be eligible to use an IngramSpark-provided free ISBN, although owning your own ISBN gives you greater control over your imprint and portability across platforms. File specifications also differ; we build files to the platform you publish on.
