Self-publishing mentoring for independent authors

Crea Editores mentoring is one-to-one guidance so you can publish your own book understanding every decision: publishing plan, the level of editing your text needs, cover brief, metadata, pricing and launch on Amazon KDP. It is booked as single sessions or as a full programme through to publication. Editorial production — editing, design, formatting — is quoted separately if you decide to delegate it.

Who it is for

Mentoring is for authors who want to publish the book themselves and understand what they are doing, rather than delegate it blind. It is the right choice if you would rather learn the process once and repeat it with your next books.

Choose mentoring if

  • You want to publish yourself with guidance.
  • You plan to write more than one book.
  • You have specific questions at one stage, not all of them.
  • You would rather learn the platform than depend on a vendor.

Choose full assistance if

  • You would rather delegate editorial production entirely.
  • You have a tight launch date.
  • The book needs illustration, colour or several languages.
  • You do not want to learn the platform, only to publish well.

Formats

Single session

Strategy call (60 min)

One session to unblock a specific decision: format, platform, pricing, categories or schedule. You leave with actions, not theory.

Review

Manuscript or cover review

A critical read and reasoned feedback on material you already have, with clear priorities on what to fix first.

Programme

Full publishing mentoring

Stage-by-stage guidance until the book is published, with recurring sessions and review of deliverables.

Technical

Amazon KDP optimisation

A review of a live listing: description, keywords, categories, per-market pricing and missing formats.

What full mentoring covers

01

Diagnosis

Where you are, where you want to get to and what is genuinely missing. The plan often gets simpler in this session.

02

Publishing plan

Formats, platforms, ISBN, schedule and an estimated budget — decided deliberately rather than by default.

03

Preparing the text

Which level of editing your manuscript needs and how to work with an editor without losing your voice.

04

Cover and formatting

How to write a useful brief, what to check in each delivery and the order in which interior and cover close.

05

Metadata and publication

Description, keywords, categories, pricing and proof review before approval.

06

Launch and adjustments

What to watch in the first weeks, what can still be fixed and which decisions are hard to reverse.

What you get in every session

  • A one-to-one video session, in English or Spanish.
  • Written notes with the decisions made and the next steps.
  • Review of whatever you moved forward between sessions.
  • Specific answers about your book, not generic training.

What it does not include

Mentoring is not a production service: it does not copyedit, design or format for you. If you decide to delegate a stage along the way, it can be quoted separately. It also promises no sales figures or chart positions — nobody can guarantee that honestly.

Pricing and duration

Single sessions and mentoring programmes are quoted by number of sessions and the scope of the reviews. Request a session and we will send the proposal in writing.

Who you work with

Mentoring is delivered by Ángel Humberto Montiel Razo, founder of Crea Editores, author of “Quantum Physics for Kids” — published in six languages through Amazon KDP — and speaker of the talk “Autopublica tu Libro” at FIL Palacio de Minería 2026. The judgement shared here comes from publishing his own books and guiding other authors' books, such as El Códice del Líder Digital.

Frequently asked questions

How is mentoring different from full assistance?

In mentoring you publish and we guide every decision. With full assistance we carry out the editorial production for you. Many authors start with mentoring and delegate only the technical stages.

Can I book a single session?

Yes. The 60-minute strategy call is designed to resolve one specific decision with no commitment to a programme.

Are sessions in English or Spanish?

Either, whichever you prefer.

Does mentoring include editing or design?

No. It is advice and review. If you decide to delegate editing, cover or formatting, those are quoted separately.

Is it useful if my book is already published?

Yes. Reviewing a live listing — description, keywords, categories, pricing and missing formats — is one of the most common reasons authors book a session.

How much does mentoring cost?

It depends on the number of sessions and the scope of the reviews. Request a session and we will send the proposal in writing.
